How to use this calculator

Adjust the inputs to your own scenario, then review the result alongside the assumptions below. The $ symbol is a currency label; the tool does not convert exchange rates.

Worked example

From 100 long shares at $100, exits of 30 at $110 and 20 at $105 yield $395.50 realized after costs; 50 shares remain.

The formula

Realized P/L = sum(exit shares × directional price change − exit costs) − proportional entry costs. Remaining P/L uses current price and remaining entry costs.

What the result means

Compare the output with the stated assumptions. Changing an input changes the arithmetic; it does not establish how a real trade or investment will perform.

Assumptions and limitations

Allocates entry costs proportionally. Remaining P/L is unrealized and excludes future exit costs, dividends, and borrowing.
