How to use this calculator

Adjust the inputs to your own scenario, then review the result alongside the assumptions below. The $ symbol is a currency label; the tool does not convert exchange rates.

Worked example

A $2 ATR and 2× multiplier give a $4 stop distance; $100 risk permits 25 shares.

The formula

Stop distance = ATR × multiplier. Shares = floor(min(account risk budget ÷ distance, account ÷ entry)).

What the result means

Compare the output with the stated assumptions. Changing an input changes the arithmetic; it does not establish how a real trade or investment will perform.

Assumptions and limitations

ATR must match your chosen timeframe and units. No live data, fees, gaps, leverage, or guaranteed stop execution. Long stop must remain positive.
