The Big Idea
The trade recap connects a daily area with a sequence of hourly observations: an upper excursion, an internal support break, acceptance below it, and later reactions from the opposite side. Its strongest lesson is the separation of a promising location from permission to enter. Neither the daily reference nor a dramatic candle completes the decision alone.
A Good Location Can Still Require a Long Wait
IPDATrader describes an earlier run beneath a major low, a rally into a daily wick reference, and several days of indecisive reactions. He does not assume that the first touch must reverse. The earlier bullish recovery remains a reason the market could continue upward instead of supplying the desired short.
That is a useful distinction between a hypothesis and a position. A premarked resistance area identifies somewhere to watch. Waiting without a trade is a valid state while the lower chart supplies no sufficiently clear structure. The duration of that wait does not create an obligation for the eventual reaction to work.
The exact naked-wick selection rule and the special daily candle classification are not fully disclosed in the transcript. The creator acknowledges that some concepts belong to more detailed teaching elsewhere. This article does not invent those definitions or pretend unseen charts establish them.
| Stage | What becomes observable | What is not yet established |
|---|---|---|
| Daily area | A prior wick region and repeated reactions. | That price cannot continue higher. |
| Upper excursion | Price moves through a prior high and fails to sustain it. | All buyers above it are trapped or known. |
| Internal breakdown | A meaningful supporting low is broken. | A lasting reversal from one crossing alone. |
| Acceptance | Two completed observations remain below the reference. | That a later recovery is impossible. |
| Opposite-side response | Former support is tested as possible resistance. | A guaranteed fill or continuation. |
Describe the Liquidity Story Without Claiming to See Every Order
The creator interprets the upper excursion as trapping breakout buyers and the subsequent decline as pressure on them. That is a plausible market narrative. Final candles do not reveal all entries, stops, hedges, or remaining positions, and they cannot prove that a particular pool of orders caused the whole move.
A more reproducible observation is an excursion above a known high followed by a completed return beneath it. That can be labeled without assigning intention to every participant. If the narrative adds useful predictive information beyond the price sequence, it needs evidence beyond the label.
The source also discusses three drives toward a high. The exact boundaries and counting rules are not specified as a mechanical algorithm. Our indicator retains a simpler one-excursion model; it does not call one failed break a fully identified three-drive formation.
Identify the Supporting Low Before It Breaks
The recap’s chosen internal low had previously supported an upward response and overlapped other chart references. That makes its loss meaningful within the creator’s explanation. A random recent low chosen only after a large selloff would not represent the same decision.
For manual study, write the level, its role, and the time it became known. Save the current chart before revealing subsequent candles. If two reviewers select different supporting lows, keep that disagreement as information about the definition rather than silently choose the one that produces the best result.
The code uses the latest confirmed pivot low as a simple supporting-low proxy. With default three-bar confirmation, that point becomes usable only after three later candles. The checks on the current bar use references already stored, then update newly confirmed pivots afterward. A level is never treated as tradable knowledge back at its turning candle.
Two Closes Add Time, but Also Delay
The creator emphasizes two hours closed below the selected support. That is stronger evidence of persistence than an intrabar crossing, while also moving the possible entry later. The complete evaluation must count both the failed early breaks avoided and the favorable movement missed while waiting.
Our indicator requires a later wide bearish break candle, followed immediately by another completed close below the frozen support. On an hourly chart, these are two hourly closes. On another interval, they are two chart closes, not automatically two hours. Do not transfer the label while changing its time meaning.
The wide-candle threshold is our original range of at least 1.25 prior ATR. The source does not give that numerical cutoff. A second close can be either body color as long as it remains below support, which isolates persistence rather than demand another full bearish impulse.
Choose the Invalidation Rule Before Calculating the Ratio
The presenter considers more than one thrust candle for placing protection above its high. He chooses a wide-ranging candle rather than requiring protection above the whole preceding swing. That expresses a specific thesis: a successful immediate breakdown should not need a broad recovery first.
A tighter invalidation can improve the nominal ratio while increasing the chance an otherwise successful larger move stops out locally. It is not automatically safer. With the same share or contract quantity, money risk also changes when the distance changes.
A narrower reference changes both size and tolerance
These original short-side prices are fictional and exclude costs and gaps.
| Step | Observation or calculation | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Proposed entry 100; target 94 | Potential reward 6 per unit | Target is fixed for all comparisons. |
| Thrust reference stop 101 | Risk 1 per unit | Nominal 6R; a $120 planned budget corresponds to 120 units. |
| Wider swing stop 103 | Risk 3 per unit | Nominal 2R; the same budget corresponds to 40 units. |
| Actual cover at 101.50 after an adverse gap | 120 × 1.50 = $180 loss | The intended 101 reference did not cap the result at $120. |
The code displays the first qualifying breakdown candle’s high for fifteen bars after the marker. That is a visual reference, not an active stop, and no buffer is added. A new marker replaces the prior display. It does not assert that the creator chose that same candle or that an order at the plotted level would execute exactly.
The Target Can Be the Next Obstacle Rather Than the Furthest Low
The source selects an opposing daily wick area that might support a bounce, rather than insist that price must clear the deepest prior low. This recognizes the risk of an intervening obstacle. The fact that price may later continue does not make the earlier objective unreasonable.
For an original long-distance comparison, a short entry at 100 with stop 101 and an intervening target at 95 offers 5R. A target at 92 offers 8R, but requires clearing the 95 area. The larger number is not a free improvement; it changes the event needed for an exit and the possible giveback.
The reported 14.27R outcome is the presenter’s claim from the recap. The supplied transcript does not independently verify execution, costs, partial exits, or a full sample. A large reward multiple from one selected trade does not establish typical expectancy.
Later Confirmation Is a New Entry Proposal
The recap also describes a later opposite-side rejection as an alternative entry or re-entry. It may provide clearer evidence after the initial breakdown. Its executable price, remaining target space, and invalidation must nevertheless be recalculated rather than inherited from the first trade.
Trailing protection above new thrust candles and adding on a retest are separate management policies. If both are studied, aggregate the total exposure. A profitable first leg does not make another position free or eliminate execution-sensitive losses across the combined trade.
The final sharp resolution is described as news-driven and not anticipated. The creator says he was asleep at the time. Treat that as an important boundary on the causal story: the favorable surprise does not prove that the original analysis predicted its timing, magnitude, or execution path.
One Transparent Breakdown Baseline
The indicator’s location defaults to the previous completed daily high, explicitly a proxy rather than an automatically identified naked wick. A manual daily resistance input can replace it for a premarked study. The initial upper failure must occur within the original 0.5-prior-ATR allowance of that reference.
It freezes the sweep high and known internal support. A completed close above the sweep high or a thirty-bar deadline cancels the sequence. Otherwise a later wide bearish break and the immediately following close below support produce one marker. A failed second close retires the attempt; it is not kept alive until two convenient candles appear.
One candidate is retained, with new upper failures ignored while occupied and replacement deferred to a later bar. The original daily location is checked at creation, not repeatedly redefined to validate the active setup. Prior daily values are completed information, and no current day’s final high is borrowed in advance.

What This Indicator Shows
Daily-location and confirmed swing references remain visible. An active sequence displays its frozen supporting low; the status panel identifies the missing stage. The marker represents the second completed close below that low. One-hour standard candles are the source-aligned starting context, while other intraday intervals deliberately change the elapsed-time meaning. The manual location input accepts a level chosen before the outcome.
What This Indicator Does Not Show
It does not identify naked wicks, the undisclosed daily candle type, exact three-drive geometry, fair-value-gap overlap, actual trapped positions, or an economic-news event. The prior-day-high fallback, pivot choice, ATR threshold, tolerance, and lifetime are ours. No target orders, trailing orders, additions, fills, or historical returns are simulated. The displayed thrust high is a reference rather than a guaranteed loss ceiling.
Setup and Validation
Paste the complete code into TradingView’s Pine Editor, save it, and add it to the chart. Use the chart type, timeframe, and context described above, then inspect the status panel and reference plots before expecting a marker. Use Once Per Bar Close for the supplied alert conditions and recreate alerts after changing code or settings. No alert submits an order.
Validation status: Statically reviewed for completed-bar timing, source-versus-proxy distinctions, future-data use, state behavior, reference replacement and expiry, and visible output. This code has not been compiled or chart-tested in TradingView here. No historical performance or live-execution results are claimed. Use replay to check the described behavior and report any compiler or runtime message exactly.
Practice: Preserve the Waiting Period
Choose a daily area before showing the hourly outcome. Record every day or hour spent there without a trade, the known supporting low, upper excursion, first break, and next close. Save initial and later-entry proposals separately, with recalculated size and remaining reward. Include levels that eventually break upward, sequences that expire, and second closes that fail.
Research and Comparison Lab
These are original proposed experiments, not results established by the source. Change one main feature at a time, retain failures and missing opportunities, and reserve later observations for evaluation rather than repeatedly selecting rules from the same outcomes.
Does the second close add useful information?
Compare the same initial break candidates with one-close and two-close permission. Keep the level, invalidation, target, costs, and available entry policy fixed. Measure avoided failures, missed movement, and realistic fill differences rather than count only confirmed examples.
Which invalidation reference changes the distribution?
Compare thrust-high and broader swing-high references at matched entries with a common planned money-risk budget. Resize each proposal. Record stop frequency, actual execution deviations, and realized payoff under one exit policy.
Does the daily location improve selection?
Compare the same lower-timeframe sequence near a premarked daily area with an unfiltered baseline. Keep proximity definitions and management fixed. Do not choose the daily wick after observing which level preceded the largest decline.
Check Your Understanding
Does a daily resistance touch alone authorize the source short? No. The recap waits for further structure.
Does two closes always mean two hours? Only on an hourly chart.
Is the default daily reference an automated naked wick? No. It is a labeled prior-day-high proxy.
Does a tighter stop guarantee lower realized loss? No. Size and execution still matter.
Was the final news acceleration described as predicted? No. The creator explicitly says it was not expected.
Final Takeaway
The useful process is location, patient observation, structural failure, and time-confirmed acceptance. Study each added observation as a decision with a cost in delay and remaining reward, rather than treating a selected large winner as proof that the full path was predictable.
